DEIF’s AGC-4 and AGC 200 software has been updated to include a range of new and up-to-the-beat features and functions. So if you’re looking for capable genset controllers ideally suited for multiple genset applications and that reduce CO2 emissions and your fuel and maintenance costs, you might want to read on. Software versions 4.65.0 & 4.60.0 were recently released for DEIF’s AGC-4 and AGC 200 genset controllers. They contain a wide range of new features and updates, the most of important of which you can learn more about in the below.
32 gensets and/or mains
An ideal addition for complex critical power applications, both controllers are now capable of handling an astonishing 32 gensets or mains in one power plant. You are free to choose as many of each as you need as long as the total number of gensets and mains does not exceed 32.
The maximum configuration for one plant allows for the following:
- 32 gensets or mains in any combination (ID 1-32)
- 16 ASCs (ID 25-40)
Note: more than 8 will reduce the number of gensets/mains correspondingly
- 8 ALCs (ID 25-40)
- 8 BTBs: 33-40 (ID 33-40)
The maximum number of IDs is 40 – in that range you are free to choose any combination within the above limitations.
Optimised ramp up sequence
With the new warm up sequence added after the generator breaker has been synchronised, power will remain on stage 1 until a pre-set temperature or input defined by you has been reached. Running with low load on your genset until it is warm will reduce tear and wear significantly and it will secure power production during warmup in contrast to traditional idle running which just burns fuel. Moreover, it will reduce the time to reach the optimal operating temperature which is where fuel economy is also the best. All in all it is good for both the genset, your wallet and the environment!
NFPA compliant battery test and display of charger output current and voltage
The integrated battery test functionality has been extended to include a start sequence, i.e. the test performs more start attempts per test. With this feature, the AGC’s comply with the American NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) demand, which requires three times crank at predefined intervals.
In addition, the AGC’s can now display charger output current and voltage (SENS battery charger required). This too is a requirement from NFPA.

Protocol for PSI added
Divided engine communication (DVC 310 & MTU or Cummins engine simultaneously possible)
Volvo Penta tier 4 and MTU Smart Connect tier 4 support
- Close Before Excitation can now be done in three different ways during cooldown:
Follow BB voltage during cooldown (previously the only option)
Keep voltage on genset during cooldown
Turn voltage off during cooldown
- Deload sequence can now be changed by you so the TB opens before the GB allowing you to stay longer on your gensets.
